Eight questions. Two minutes. Your score, your deadline and the three gaps to fix first.

UAE e-invoicing means issuing structured PINT AE invoices, exchanged through FTA-accredited service providers on a Peppol-based network and reported to the Federal Tax Authority. It rolls out in phases from January 2027 under Ministerial Decisions 243 and 244 of 2025, with voluntary adoption open since July 2026. B2C, government sovereign-capacity transactions and VAT-exempt or zero-rated financial services are out of scope.

Your top gaps

  1. We have appointed an FTA-accredited service provider (ASP).
Shortlist accredited ASPs and sign one. Pre-approval alone isn't accreditation.
  2. Every B2B customer record has a verified TRN and legal entity name.
Clean your customer master data. Buyer TRN is a mandatory field.
  3. Our invoicing system can output PINT AE (Peppol UBL XML), or our ASP converts to it.
Map your ERP invoice fields to PINT AE, or choose an ASP connector.

Dates per Ministerial Decision 244 of 2025, as amended; confirm with the UAE Ministry of Finance. Invoices not issued through an accredited provider may not be accepted for VAT purposes. Not legal advice.

The rules

What UAE e-invoicing asks of you.

Six things. Most teams underestimate the data.

An accredited provider

Every e-invoice goes through an FTA-accredited service provider (ASP). It validates the invoice, sends it to your buyer and reports it to the Federal Tax Authority.

A structured format

PINT AE, the UAE version of Peppol UBL XML. A PDF, Word file, image or email is not an e-invoice.

Clean master data

Buyer TRN, legal name and the right tax category on every line. Bad data gets invoices rejected.

Credit and debit notes

They follow the same rules and must point back to the original invoice.

Electronic archiving

Keep e-invoices for the legal retention period, in a form the FTA can access.

A process for rejections

Someone owns failed invoices and fixes them fast. Administrative penalties apply; see the FTA.

Pick one that is accredited, not just pre-approved. Check that it handles credit and debit notes and every invoice scenario you use, validates before sending, and has a connector for your ERP.

Yes. Buyer TRN is mandatory for B2B invoices, so clean your customer records first. E-invoices must be stored electronically for the legal retention period, with access for the FTA.
